Hey, no hard feelings here. We’re all fans of Game Of Thrones(GOT). However, with Cinemax ordering a pilot based on “Skin Trade,” by George R. R. Martin we think it’s gonna be an early Christmas gift. The reasons why this series, which has a werewolf murder mystery at its centre, is gonna blow GOT into thin air is based on the following;
1. Martin’s Gonna Take Hold Of Reins On Horror
Seeing GOT, you’re aware of the fact that Martin doesn’t fight shy of showing blood sputtering or guts being ripped apart. Mind you, all this even when GOT ain’t a horror show. Now, with Skin Trade, which is an exclusive horror show and a murder mystery,we can expect him putting his best foot forward. The book which had Martin’s story also had stories by Stephen King and Dan Simmons. That in itself is a feat accomplished, isn’t it? You might as well look forward to seeing a lot more as far as horrific sights are concerned. With description that the plot has murder victims who are skinned, I’m already having goose bumps. Yikes!

2. No Family Drama Here
Unlike GOT, which has the Starks, Greyjoys, Lannisters, Targaryens, Martells all blood thirsty for each other, all for a measly Pointy chair, Skin Trade is way different. GOT is a milieu of family and political drama which has swords, zombies, giants and yes, let’s not forget the dragons. Initially, it was all very thrilling but got kinda tiring after sometime. With Skin Trade, we’re told that the family isn’t the central point. That’s a welcome relief. Who wants to see squabbling siblings? Not me for sure.
